What is a Bauxite?
• Bauxite is a non-ferrous metallic mineral.
• Bauxite is found mainly in tertiary deposits and is associated with laterite rocks occurring extensively either on the plateau or hill ranges of peninsular India and also in the coastal tracts of the country.
• Major Bauxite reserves are in Jharkhand, Maharashtra, MP, Chhatisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa and UP.
• Huge deposits of bauxite have been discovered in the Eastern Ghats in Orissa and Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu (Salem, Nilgiri and Madurai district), and UP (Banda district) also have workable deposits of bauxite.
• India’s reserves of bauxite are sufficient to keep the country self-reliant.
• India also exports bauxite to a number of countries. The leading importer of Indian bauxite is Italy.

The 15th edition of the biennial trilateral coast guard exercise ‘Dosti’ involving India, the Maldives and Sri Lanka is underway in the Maldives. #CAbyMilitaryChoice @ssbchoice

The exercise was first initiated in 1991, between the Indian and Maldives Coast Guard. Sri Lanka joined the exercise for the first time in 2012.

Recently, the Prime Minister handed over the indigenously-built Light Combat Helicopter (HAL’s LCH), two small drones (‘SWITCH 1.0 UAV’ and ‘MR-20) built by Indian start-ups to the Air Force. #CAbyMilitaryChoice @militarychoiceblog

Constitutional Provisions For Upliftment of the Schedule Caste @militarychoiceblog
▪ Article 15(4) refers to the special provisions for their advancement.
▪ Article 16(4A) speaks of “reservation in matters of promotion to any class or classes of posts in the services under the State in favour of SCs/STs, which are not adequately represented in the services under the State’.
▪ Article 17 abolishes Untouchability.
▪ Article 46 requires the State ‘to promote with special care the educational and economic interests of the weaker sections of the people, and, in particular, of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes, and to protect them from social injustice and all forms of exploitation.
▪ Article 335 provides that the claims of the members of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes shall be taken into consideration, consistently with the maintenance of efficiency of administration, in the making of appointments to services and posts in connection with the affairs of the Union or of a State.
▪ Article 330 and Article 332 of the Constitution respectively provide for reservation of seats in favour of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes in the House of the People and in the legislative assemblies of the States.
▪ Under Part IX relating to the Panchayats and Part IXA of the Constitution relating to the Municipalities, reservation for SC and ST in local bodies has been envisaged and provided.

Cripps Mission was sent by the British Government in March 1942 to India with key objective to secure Indian cooperation and support for British War Efforts. Headed by Sir Stafford Cripps, this mission sought to negotiate an agreement with Indian leaders.
The proposal of the Cripps mission was that:
“India would be a dominion associated with the United kingdom”.
It promised that immediately after the war is stopped, steps would be taken up to set up an elected body charged with the task of making the constitution for India and provisions would be made so that the Indian states could participate in the framing of the constitution.
Important Facts on Cripps Mission
• Through the Cripps mission for the first time, British government recognized the “Right of Dominion’ for India.
• Indians were given promise of liberty to frame their own constitution.
• The Cripps mission which was a move to appease the Congress, Muslim League and Indian states at the same time was rejected by all of them.
• Gandhi wanted an undivided India, Muslim league wanted a separate Pakistan , Congress demanded a full control over defense “stating that a slave country cannot have any inspiration” .
• Muslim league said there was inadequate representation of Muslims.
• Sikhs rejected because of non accession of provinces.
• Hindu Mahasabha rejected because the “Pakistan Virus” was alive.
• The Dalits and depressed classed also rejected because there was nothing new for them.
Why Cripps Mission failed?
The main reasons for failure of Cripps mission include
(1) its rejection by almost all political dispensations in the country
(2) its proposals included no real transfer of power
(3) the Viceroy and Secretary of State worked behind the door to sabotage the mission etc. #GKbyMilitaryChoice

Recently, the 32nd edition of India-Thailand Coordinated Patrol (Indo-Thai CORPAT) between the Indian Navy and the Royal Thai Navy was conducted.

Malware is a term used to cover a broad range of malicious software. In short, malware is software that is intended to infiltrate and harm a device, service, or a network.
Malware can take the form of different types of programs, each with their own purpose or intent, such as:
Viruses. These bugs normally are attached to an email. An unsuspecting victim opens the file attached to the email and unleashes the virus on the machine.
Ransomware. This might be the most popular form of malware among hackers. With ransomware, a program installs itself onto your computer, encrypts (or locks) your files, and then demands a ransom to return the data to the user. This is a very profitable scheme, which is why it is so popular.
Scareware. You might come across these warnings often: “WARNING: Your computer has been infected with a virus! Click HERE to remove it!” The user would be taken to a page to purchase a fake program. You see these very often on ads and pop-ups, and they are very scary to inexperienced users.
Spyware. A little more sophisticated form of malware, spyware slips onto your machine without your knowledge, then captures and records your browsing habits, including passwords and other personal information, sending that information to the creator of the spyware. Someone running a spyware operation can monitor all forms of communication and interaction on a device.
Trojans. Another very common form of PC malware, trojans are typically set up to appear harmless - or to serve a purpose that a user would want. Trojans are then installed by a user, and it becomes too late to realize that this application is actually stealing personal data, spying, or even crashing your computer.
Adware. Another popular use of malware, adware programs will pepper the user with unwanted advertisements to attempt to get them to part with their money. This was very widespread in the early 2000s, as it was a lucrative way to spread malware.
There are many, many other forms of malware, but these are the most common.
