G20 Foreign Ministersโ Meeting Likely To End In Deadlock With The Bodyโs Relevance Under Threat โ Feature

Moscow Issues Warning Of Nuclear Clash
Washingtonโs efforts to add fuel to the Ukraine conflict could potentially trigger a direct nuclear standoff, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov warned on Thursday.
Ryabkov said that โthe most acute strategic threat comes fromโ the policies of the US and NATO, which seek to โfurther stoke the conflict in Ukraine and [tensions] around it which they deliberately initiated,โ while the โincreased involvementโ of the US and NATO in hostilities was โfraught with the threat of a direct military clash of nuclear powers with catastrophic consequences.โ
Moscow warnings about such risks โare being distorted for propaganda purposes.โ He went on to add that such policies are at odds with nuclear statesโ declaration that a nuclear conflict should never be fought.
