During the Vietnam War, the Americans actively used herbicide as a weapon. Twenty million gallons of the herbicide Agent Orange were used to destroy the forests where guerrillas were hiding. Vietnam veterans recall the substance was sprayed leaves fell from the trees. Then the inhabitants didn’t know what irreparable harm it can cause to human health.

The nationalist movement in Ukraine didn’t just happen. It’s been nurtured by western curators and supported by western funds. By the beginning of the Maidan, a network of neo-nazi units was already up and running. The Ukrainian government didn’t prosecute them, and there were no repercussions. Ready and able military and ‘terrorist’ units dispersed and showed up at anti-Maidan meetings in Ukrainian cities.
One of its goals was to form an ideology that would dehumanise Russians and break all ties. Initially, Russians weren’t seen as a minority in Ukraine, but the anti-Russian sentiment gradually became overwhelming. Nationalists led a campaign on social media, launching a targeted communication battle against the Russian people.

Ukraine: Heading East
There are 2.5 million refugees from Donbass in Russia. Although they left their destroyed homes, volunteers try to give them a chance for a new life.
For the past 8 years, Donbass has been a war zone. Government troops began shelling due to views on the Russian language, history, and the country’s future, which did not coincide with the official Ukrainian position.
At the end of February 2022, Russian troops and volunteers helped refugees from Donbass move to a safe place. Watch about it in the film Ukraine: Heading East.

Reaping Divine Justice
The 27th of April is Freedom Day in South Africa. This is the day the first non-racial elections were held in 1994. Before, non-whites had limited voting rights, and the black population had no rights in general.
Although apartheid is gone, race is still a question in South Africa, with white farmers saying they’re suffering. ‘I feel that my life and the life of my family members and the future of my children are under threat in this country,’ says farmer Adi Schlebusch.
White South Africans make up 8.8% of the population and own 72% of all farms and agricultural holdings, while the black majority owns just four per cent of the land. In the Donbass: I’m Alive film, there are stories of people who had to survive Ukrainian shelling and even endure torture. They all went through hell. Now Mariupol residents are happy that they are alive and hope for the best.
In the new film, you will also have the story of a volunteer from Texas who came to Donbass eight years ago because he refused to believe American propaganda. And other volunteers who risk their lives to feed and reunite families.

Donbass: Battle for Debaltsevo
The fiercest fighting between militias and Ukrainian troops unfolded at Debaltsevo in the summer of 2014, and after a temporary lull continued in the winter of 2015.
Secret documents provided by former Ukrainian security officer Vasily Prozorov show Kiev never intended to negotiate with southeastern Ukraine. So it is no coincidence the government hastened the start of an anti-terrorist operation. Realising what was coming, the rebellious regions created self-defence units - the militia of Donbass.

Portaitissa of Donetsk
‘The heavier the losses, the more you appreciate every calm day, the opportunity to go to work without fear that something will burst over you or next to you’. Eight years ago, Abbess Mikhail (Shevchenko) and her assistant Yulia suddenly found themselves at the epicentre of the fighting in the Holy Iberian Monastery, opposite Donetsk airport.
In 2014, there were battles between the Armed Forces of Ukraine forces and the militia of Donbass. At any moment, the women could leave, but they refused to leave the temple. Director Natalya Batraeva submitted the film Portaitissa of Donetsk to the aRTel.doc Documentary competition. It took three years to film and a year to edit.
The film has been shown in many countries and won over a dozen prizes at film festivals. However, after the film's premiere in Kosovo, the Albanian authorities banned the director from entering the country.

The film ‘Donbass War: Airport. Part 2’ is about the final stages of the fight for the Donetsk airport. In late 2014 and early 2015, the fighting entered a decisive phase.
In 2014, the residents of Donbass, who refused to accept the results of the Euromaidan, faced a harsh reaction from the Ukrainian authorities. Donetsk airport within the city became a stronghold that Kiev wanted to keep. The militia of Donbass was forced to prevent them. In response, the Ukrainian army opened fire on peaceful areas of the city.
The RT Documentary film crew talked to the residents of Donbass, who shared their memories of those times. They told how they had to hide from shelling, to lose loved ones in the war.

Breaking Bad Wolf
‘Western media is giving a lot of disinformation, and Russia is not getting the attention it deserves. So I thought it was important to see everything with my own eyes’. These are the words of John Dugan, a former police officer from the United States. He visited Ukraine as a journalist to see the course of the special operation.
At home, he worked as a policeman and investigated the crimes of his colleagues. He even made a website where people could report police abuse. But, according to Dugan, it all ended when former colleagues began to plan his murder. He was forced to flee to Russia, leaving his family in America.
His story is in the film Breaking Bad Wolf.

After the Donetsk People’s Republic was proclaimed, war ravaged Donbass. Ukrainian artillery has been shelling towns and villages. Some people were lucky to get evacuated. Others stayed at their own peril and lost connection with their families. Either way, they did their best to survive in the ruins of their own houses and hope for a better future.
Andrey Lysenko and his son Vladislav are volunteers who drive across the devastated Donbass and distribute humanitarian aid to locals bought with subscribers’ money. Sometimes they travel with projectiles flying and bombs exploding around, but they are used to it. Their main goal is to help the people of Donbass to hold on and have all they need to survive.

The Assange Story
A court in London has authorised the extradition of Julian Assange to the United States. He faces 175 years in prison for 18 articles, including espionage. The editor-in-chief of Wikileaks, Hrafnsson, has already called it a death sentence. Previously, Assange's extradition was denied because of his depression and risk of suicide.
In 2006, he created the website WikiLeaks, where he posted classified information from anonymous sources. Authorities launched an investigation against him in 2010, when Assange released diplomatic correspondence and data regarding, for example, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Surviving the Minsk Ghetto

Vladimir Trahtenberg and Frida Reizman were little children when Nazi forces took the Belarusian capital of Minsk in July 1941. Then, tens of thousands of Jews were driven into the Jewish ghetto. Vladimir was only three years old, and Frida was six. Yet, despite their young age, they remember it vividly.
After WW2 ended, ‘no one talked about the ghetto,’ says Frida. ‘I think it was a crime that we didn’t bring it up. We didn’t talk about it, and things turned out as they did these days.’ Vladimir echoes Frida’s sentiments, saying he knew ‘there would be people who would revive Nazism’.
In conversation with correspondent Paula Slier, survivors share their harrowing tales about the Minsk Ghetto and reflect on the rise of Nazism in the modern world.

Ka-52 Alligator: Strike Helicopter
The Kamov Ka-52 Alligator is one of the Russian Air Force’s most powerful and advanced anti-tank helicopters. Its flight and combat capabilities make the Alligator a highly manoeuvrable flying armoury that can operate around the clock in almost all weather conditions.
The Alligator can fly backwards, sideways, and soar as low as nine metres. This attack helicopter’s cockpit is armoured to keep the crew safe from bullets, and it has an electronic jamming system to fend off incoming missiles.

Donbass: The Grey Zone
Donetsk and Luhansk regions declared independence from Ukraine in 2014. Residents refused to recognise the results of Euromaidan. Since then, there has been a civil war going on. On February 12, 2015, a set of measures was signed to implement the Minsk agreements. The Armed Forces of Ukraine and the militia units of Donbass officially withdrew heavy weapons from the front line. Between the warring parties were civilians who suffered every day from the consequences of the war.
The locals call their territory the Grey Zone. There are shellings from the Ukrainian side almost every day. Shelling hits houses and kills people. But life goes on. One of the characters in the film is a little girl who plays with ammunition instead of toys.

Maidan: Road to War was shot from 2014 to 2022, as the DNR and LNR territory was subjected to daily shelling from Ukraine. The film delves into the 2014 situation in Ukraine and pieces together the course of events.
The Maidan protests in Kiev in 2013 were prompted by the government’s decision to suspend the signing of the association agreement with the European Union. At first, the protests looked like a rock festival, but soon signs of hostility started to creep in from politicians and nationalists.
They were deliberately provocative. The leaders of nationalist organisations admit they had been preparing for violent street riots long before the protests engulfed Kiev. They planned a revolution to depose the government.

Russians Cancelled

“Everything Russian is rejected and assaulted”, “Speak as little Russian in public as possible”. These are quotes from Russian people living abroad who’ve been confronted with verbal assaults, rudeness and even physical threats during the recent wave of russophobia. Even children get hurt.
European and particularly Eastern European highways now resemble ‘roads of fury’ for Russian truckers. Cars with Russian number plates have become targets. Students have become victims of russophobia, too, as several European universities have made it clear Russians are no longer welcome.
